What we keep, and what we don’t
Poker Seat organises private home games between people who already know each other. It is not a social network, it does not sell anything, and there is nobody to sell you to.

Who holds it
Poker Seat is operated by Cinderblock Software LLC, which is the company responsible for the data described here.
Cinderblock Software LLC, a New York limited liability company, 380 Hayward Ave., Mount Vernon, NY 10552.
The short version
- We store what a game needs: who you are, which games you were asked to, and what you answered.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone. There is no advertising, and no analytics or advertising company sees anything you do here.
- Your phone number and payment handles are optional, private by default, and shared only with a specific circle when you choose to.
- You can delete your account, and everything of yours goes with it.
What is stored about you
- Your email address
- Required. It is how you sign in and how invitations reach you.
- Your display name
- Required. Other people at your table see it.
- Phone, Venmo, PayPal
- Optional, and private unless you share them. Sharing is per circle and per field, chosen when you answer an invitation. They are contact details only — the app never processes, moves or records a payment.
- Your answers to invitations
- Whether you are in, out or unsure, and any note you wrote with it. The host and the other people holding a seat can see these.
- Messages you post about a game
- Visible to the host and to the people holding a seat in that game, and to nobody else.
- Notification settings, and a device token
- If you turn on notifications, we store an identifier your phone’s operating system gives us so that Apple or Google can deliver them. It identifies the phone, not you, and it is deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
- Bug reports you send
- What you wrote, plus the app version, platform and OS build. The app attaches those so you do not have to describe them. Nothing from your games is attached.
- When you use Poker Seat
- The date you last used Poker Seat, whether you have used the phone app and when you last did, and when you first opened each invitation. A host who has you in one of their circles can see the first two, so they know who will see messages in the app; the host of a game sees whether you have opened its invitation.
- What you do in Poker Seat
- Which screens you open, and what you do there — creating a game, sending invitations, answering one, posting in a game’s thread — with the time, and whether it was the Android app, the iPhone app or the web. We keep this in our own database to learn which parts of Poker Seat people use and which they don’t. Only we see it: not hosts, not other players, and no analytics service. It is never used for advertising, and it goes when your account does.
- A record of host actions
- When invitations were sent, when a game was cancelled, and so on — so a host can see what happened to their own game.
If a host adds you to their list
A host can add a name and an email address to their own circle before you have ever used the app — that is how you get invited in the first place. Until you sign in, that entry is the host’s contact list rather than an account: there is no profile, no password, and nothing to log into.
You can answer an invitation from the email link without creating an account at all, and that remains true. If you do sign in with the same address, your account and that entry become the same person.
Who else sees anything
Only the people in your games. Specifically: a game’s host sees the roster, every answer, and whether each invitation has been opened; people holding a seat see who else is playing and the game’s thread. A host also sees, for the people in their circles, when each last used Poker Seat. Circles are private to their host, and no player ever sees another host’s circle.
These companies process data on our behalf, and no others:
- Google Cloud
- Runs the service and stores the database.
- Firebase Authentication (Google)
- Holds your email address for signing in.
- Twilio SendGrid
- Delivers invitation and sign-in email.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and Apple Push Notification service
- Deliver notifications to Android phones and iPhones respectively, if you turn them on.
- Google Workspace
- Receives what you write to support@pokerseat.app.
How long it is kept
For as long as you have an account. Games and their answers stay so that you and your hosts can look back at them.
Sign-in codes expire after ten minutes and can be used once. Notification device tokens are removed when you sign out, and when the operating system tells us a phone is no longer reachable.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete my account. On the web: this page. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
What goes:
- Your profile, and your sign-in.
- Every circle you host, and every game in them — including the answers other people gave.
- Your place on other people’s rosters, and the answers you gave to their games. You disappear from games you were invited to.
- Messages you wrote, your notification settings, your devices.
A game you created inside somebody else’s circle stays with them rather than being deleted. It is their game; you were helping.
Want a copy of your data first? Ask, using the address below, and we will send it.
Children
The app is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly keep information about them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over HTTPS, and the database is not reachable from the public internet. Sign-in is by a one-time code rather than a password, so there is no password of yours for anyone to steal from us. Invitation links are signed, single-purpose, and specific to one person.
No system is perfectly secure, and this one is run by one person. We have said what we actually do rather than describing an ideal.
Your choices
You can, at any time:
- See what we hold — most of it is visible in the app; ask and we will send the rest.
- Correct it — your name, email and contact details are editable in Profile.
- Delete it — Profile → Delete my account, or this page.
- Stop hearing from a host — without an account, and without deleting anything, using the link at the bottom of any invitation.
- Turn notifications off — per game and per kind, in the app.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your data. Ask, and we will do the same thing we would do anyway.
Asking us anything
Write to support@pokerseat.app. That includes asking for a copy of your data, asking us to correct it, or asking us to delete it if you would rather not do it yourself.
If this page and the app ever disagree, the app is the bug. Please tell us.
